Mom's Sampler Embroidered Handmade Quilt

As my Mom grew older her favorite, simple embroidery work was to use her stash of embroidery thread to cross stitch small "Sampler" blocks from Jack Dempsey Needle Art.  The Samplers include a butterfly, a dragonfly and a heart.  I worked with her stash of thread and my stash to embroider more than 100 blocks.  I put a fun black polka dot fabric with the Sampler blocks in the top of the quilt and as the backing to make a large batting-lined quilt.  It is vintage, but simple and fun.
